Former Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins and State Senator Randy Bass are the featured guests at a reception next week to launch the Campaign for Justice in Comanche and Stephens counties. The reception will be held from 5:30-7 pm, Thursday, June 14th, at El Greco restaurant in Lawton, 10 Northwest Mission Blvd., in Lawton.
Organizers of the reception are Comanche County Bar President Ana Basora-Walker, Stephens County Bar President Jaime Phipps and Duncan attorney Bill Buxton. Basora-Walker is currently serves on Legal Aid's Board of Directors.
The Campaign for Justice is a drive to raise operating funds for the Legal Aid’s Lawton Law Office. The Lawton office is located at 323 S.W. C Avenue in Lawton and serves low-income and elderly persons from Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Stephens, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, Tillman and Grady counties. Kade A. McClure is the managing attorney of the office and Leona Denning, Valerie Hunt and Greg Beben are staff attorneys. Sandra Denton serves as paralegal, Joy Perkins is the legal secretary and Blanca Camacho the receptionist.
