Legal Aid News > Legal Aid Services to meet with area seniors

Judy Clay, Legal Aid of Services of Oklahoma senior citizen's paralegal, will be in Enid Thursday to meet with Garfield County seniors who need information on a legal matter or have questions.

She will be at Northern Oklahoma Development Authority, 2901 N. Van Buren, 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. The session is free. No appointment is necessary.

"Many seniors and those with hearing impairments prefer to discuss their problems in person, and meeting at NODA makes it easier to review legal documents," Clay said.

Legal Aid is a nonprofit law firm providing civil legal services to low-income people and senior citizens. Legal Aid serves 77 counties, accepting cases in the areas of domestic abuse, housing and consumer law and government benefits. Legal Aid is funded through the federal Legal Services Corp., Oklahoma Bar Foundation, local area United Way agencies, NODA Area Agency on Aging, grants and gifts from individuals.

Legal Aid's Stillwater Law Center is located at 920 S. Main. The toll-free phone number is (800) 256-9601. The office serves low-income people and senior citizens in Garfield, Grant, Kay, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, Noble, Major, Blaine, Alfalfa and Payne counties.
